Heart In
Hand recently announced that their new album ‘Almost there’ has been postponed.
The release date is still unknown. People like me, who just can’t wait to hear
the second album of this melodic hardcore quartet, search the internet for any
clues. What I found was a leak and it’s viable. I must say after having the
privilege to listen to ‘Almost There’ it has been on repeat ever since. Such a
brilliant album and a great asset to my music collection.
The album
features a couple of guest appearances such as James Leatherbarrow, Mikey
Chapman and Dani Winter Bates from Bury Tomorrow. These guest appearances give
a little extra to their typical heavy but emotional sound. Every song on Almost
there differs a lot more from each other than the songs on their last album Only
Memories. Frontman Charlie Holmes did a great job on the lyrics which are
probably their strongest point. Without the lyrics Heart In Hand wouldn’t be
the band I know for their unique way to touch people with heavy music. In
combination with the typical melodies they build up to a climax in every song.
It’ll leave you wondering on what you’ve just heard.
Although I still prefer Only Memories and it’s catch phrases. Almost
there is a worthy follow up and will probably grow on me the more I listen to
it!
Be sure to
check out Home/Sick, Maybe, Broken Lights, Sleeping Alone and the instrumental ‘Old
Tattoos’
