Who
remembers the message from frontman Crafter where he stated he kicked everyone
out of ‘his’ band due to trust issues? Well I sure remember it and it blew my
mind. Not much information is known about the breakup and it still leaves me
wondering what happened on that controversial tour which led to the
‘Confession’ distrust breakup.
I thought
this was the end of Confession, a band I grew fond of after they released their
album ‘Cancer’ in 2009. They were heavy and in your face. I always remember the
times I studied for my exams and Confession blasted through my speakers. I knew
Crafters work from bands like I Killed The Prom Queen and Carpathian but it
didn’t convince in such a way Confession did. Crafters growling talent combined were of such a high standard on ‘Cancer’ that
it became one of my most listened albums in 2009.
‘The Long Way Home’ released in 2012 was their
follow up album and it didn’t have a huge impact on me. There wasn’t anything wrong
with it. Production wise it sounded great and it surpassed ‘Cancer’. Apart from
the song ‘The Long Way Home’ it didn’t give me that feeling of wanting to stomp
everyone’s brains in. Which every song on Cancer definitely gave me!
Well after
a trip through history and a short breakup being what it is, Crafter reformed
Confession and are showing some forms of life again.
Not too
long ago they released a teaser of their new song ‘This Is A War’. I’m excited
to see where they’ll go. They sound great and it reminds me of some old school
Confession. I’ll keep you updated when the full single is released!
