Hundredth, a melodic metalcore band from Myrtle Beach, SC became one of the popular assets of the current melodic metalcore scene through their song ‘Desolate’ which became a big hit on YouTube. The song had guest vocals from the front man of the band ‘The Ghost Inside’. Which created a lot of publicity for the band.
The song ‘Desolate ‘was the first song I heard from these guys, the song was an instant favorite. It kind of resembled ‘The Ghost Inside’ which is one of the biggest bands in the underground scene right now. The resemblance is a good thing. It’s not like they copied ‘The Ghost Inside’ because one thing that separates Hundredth from The Ghost Inside is the clean vocals they use. It has become a trend in the metalcore scene to use clean vocals. Which I kind of like, it gives more depth to a song and attracts a lot more people. The clean vocals weren’t one of the biggest parts of the songs ‘Hundredth’ created before their new album release. After I had listened to their new album, I kind of noticed that the band uses a lot more clean vocals in their songs. Great change because their clean vocalist is also their guitarist which shows off incredible talent by doing both things at the same time. I noticed that their lyrics were just as powerful as their previous releases. ‘Remain And Sustain’ is a song where the clean vocals use is quite noticeable and frequent. It creates a whole new ‘Hundredth’ which you need to adjust to if you were already a fan. In short, this band has really grown and created their own sound.

Just listen to ‘Remain And Sustain’ and watch their new music video for it!
Funny thing is that the new music video is a combination of ADTR’s music video for ‘I’m made of wax Larry…’ and The Ghost Insides ‘Unspoken’

I’m putting back together all these pieces and everything around me is not the same.
No longer do I compromise convictions that I have.
Everything now has changed... has changed. It’s all changed.
No longer am I lost behind these eyes of complacency.
I have control of everything... everything.
It had to change. It had to change. My pride came crashing down.
I was only holding myself back, from being all that I can.

(Great lyrics from the song 'Remain And Sustain')

Their new album is OUT NOW on Mediaskare records. I recommend you buy it, it’s truly great!
